Un quartier-maître est abattu après avoir eu un accident de voiture. Sur place, le NCIS trouve un autre corps, celui d'une femme qui était dans le second véhicule accidenté. En procédant à son autopsie, Ducky découvre que la femme était morte avant l'accident et qu'elle venait juste d'accoucher. Trouver le tueur devient alors l'unique moyen de retrouver le bébé.
